Turkey voices deep sorrow over deadly rebel attack on Yemen military base

Turkey on Aug. 29 expressed "deep sorrow" for a ballistic missile that struck southern Yemen, killing at least 40 soldiers and injuring dozens.

Turkey extends its condolences to the "friendly people and Government of Yemen and to the families of those who lost their lives" while wishing the injured a speedy recovery, said a Turkish Foreign Ministry statement.

Turkey hails new Qatar, Saudi Arabia rapprochement

Turkey on Jan. 4 welcomed the end of a nearly three-year feud between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, as the two countries have agreed to reopen their airspace and borders.

"We welcome the agreement made to open land, sea, and air borders between Qatar and Saudi Arabia as of tonight," said a Turkish Foreign Ministry statement.
