Asked to comment on the claim made by some Western media that Serbia was engaging in "saber-rattling" during a time of instability in Kosovo and Metohija, the defense minister said Belgrade did contribute to that instability.

The registrar's office at Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals has said that it will listen in on Radovan Karadzic's telephone calls for several days after he addressed a public debate in Montenegro by phone from the UN Detention Unit in the Netherlands.

The foreign minister and first deputy PM said that Pristina's announcements onfthe initiative to form such a tribunal is viewed in light of the attempts to find a balance with the work of a specialist court dealing with the KLA ("Kosovo Liberation Army") .

Two out of six Bosniak men from Srebrenica who were shot by members of the Scorpions paramilitary unit in 1995 have now been identified after their remains exhumed from a mass grave at Rogoj mountain pass in the Trnovo municipality in June last year, it was announced on Friday.

This was the first case of a media outlet being declared a legitimate military goal.

The association's website says it is a non-political organisation whose main aim is "encouraging the realisation of the principles on which Republika Srpska is based".

Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti is reporting that it has confirmation of this.

"The Serb people and myself together with it, have already won. The Serb Republic (RS, the Serb entity in Bosnia-Herzegovina) has been created, and the Serb people are free in their own state," Karadzic is quoted as saying, and adding:

The former Bosnian Serb Army chief was convicted under a first-instance verdict in November 2017 of genocide in Srebrenica, the persecution of Bosniaks and Croats throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, terrorising the civilian population of Sarajevo and taking UN peacekeepers hostage, but the case has now gone to appeal.
