Hakkari State Hospital

Turkey's defense minister on Nov 9 visited southeastern Hakkari province where at least 25 soldiers were injured by an accidental explosion of defective ammunition. 

Hulusi Akar was accompanied by Turkish Chief of General Staff Yaşar Güler and the commander of Turkish Land Forces Ümit Dündar. 

Akar visited the soldiers at Hakkari State Hospital. 

One Turkish soldier was killed in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attack in the southeastern province of Hakkari on Sept. 3.

The Hakkari Governor's Office stated that PKK militants staged the attack with rocket projectors in Hakkari's Çukurca district.

Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants injured one worker in the southeastern province of Hakkari's Çukurca district, near the Iraqi border, early on Aug. 25, in an attack with three rocket launchers on a road construction site in the area. 

The incident occurred in Üzümlü village, approximately 20 kilometers away from the Çukurca district center.

A police officer was killed during a clash between security forces and outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the southeastern province of Hakkari on Aug. 6, the governor's office confirmed in a statement. 

The clash in the Şemdinli district also injured another officer, said the statement, adding that the injured police officer was taken to the Hakkari State Hospital. 

One soldier was killed and two were wounded in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attack in the eastern province of Hakkari on July 10, Doğan News Agency has reported.

PKK militants attacked the Ormanlı Border Battalion Command in Hakkari's Çıukurca district with mortar shells, the Hakkari Governor's Office stated. 

An outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militant who was sought with a reward of one million Turkish Liras (around $281,000) was among 11 militants killed on June 27 in the eastern province of Bingöl, Doğan News Agency reported on July 3. 

Şahabettin Çotak, code-named "Aşut Star," was sought with a green arrest warrant and was on the Interior Ministry's "wanted terrorists list."

Six Turkish soldiers were wounded due to an outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) mortar attack on June 11, Doğan News Agency has reported. 

The mortar attack was conducted by PKK militants from Iraqi territory to a base area on Mount Güven in Hakkari's Çukurca district, according to the Hakkari Governor's Office statement.

One Turkish soldier was killed and six were wounded in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attack in the eastern province of Hakkari on June 6, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

PKK militants attacked a military vehicle with a rocket projector during its passage on the Hakkari-Çukurca highway.

Turkish warplanes carried out air strikes against outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) targets in the Zap region of northern Iraq on May 4. 

Air strikes were also carried out against the outlawed group in the Çukurca district of the southeastern province of Hakkari. 

Two PKK militants were killed and seven soldiers were wounded in clashes that erupted in Çukurca on May 4.

Four soldiers were injured in a landmine blast in southeastern Turkey on April 28, a security source has said. 

The four were slightly wounded when a landmine planted by outlawed Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) militants in the Şemdinli district of Hakkari province went off. 

The injured were airlifted to Hakkari State Hospital, the source added.
