A Bulgarian Man Suspected of Complicity in a Murder Is Being Extradited
The Haskovo District Court has finally decided to turn over a Bulgarian suspected of complicity in a murder in Greece to the authorities in Bulgaria's southern neighbour. Milen Raychev has a European arrest warrant issued by the Athens prosecutor's office.
Bulgarian Court Releases on Bail 6 Officers Arrested for Corruption at Kapitan Andreevo
The Haskovo District Court has released five of the border policemen and customs officers who were detained during the operation at the Kapitan Andreevo border cross check point in September on bail of BGN 5,000, reported BNR.
The same bail was set for another one of the accused who has been placed under house arrest.
Ex Deputy Head of Bulgaria's Customs Agency Remains in Custody
Rumen Bozhinov, former Deputy Director of Bulgaria's Customs Agency, remains in custody, according to a ruling of the Haskovo District Court.
He was detained on Monday at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing point while seeking to enter Bulgaria from Turkey.
Svilengrad Customs Office Head Facing Bribery Charge Remains in Custody
The Plovdiv Appellate Court upheld Thursday the order for the remand in custody of Todor Karaivanov, director of the Svilengrad customs office.
Karaivanov appealed the measure imposed by the Haskovo District Court before the Plovdiv Appellate Court, the court of second instance.
Todor Karaivanov was charged with taking a bribe of BGN 2773.
