The European Commission's report on the rule of law in Bulgaria for the past year highlights a lack of progress in securing effective investigations and a sufficient number of final convictions for high-level corruption. It also points out the need for reforms in the anti-corruption commission.

The Albanian Bar Association said on Monday that lawyers will boycott court hearings at all levels for four days from Tuesday to Friday in protest against the new judicial map of the country, which was recently approved by the High Judicial Council.

Bulgarian caretaker interior minister Boyko Rashkov accused on Sunday the prosecution of keeping secret a list of 38 magistrates and politicians who own undeclared property abroad.
