Turkish TV series aim to conquer Far East

Turkish TV series, among the country's most lucrative exports in recent years, will now be promoted in the Far East, following their success in the Middle East and Latin America. 

The Culture and Tourism Ministry in collaboration with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, will promote Turkish TV series at this week's Asia TV Forum in Singapore. 

Dozens of leather shops close down in Istanbul as sector loses Russian market

Some 40 percent of the shops in Istanbul's leather exporting district, Zeytinburnu, have been closed down, leaving 3,000 people jobless, as the sector faces the risk to lose its largest market, Russia. The owners of the remaining shops have said their products were seized in Russia. 

PM to bosses: Let's make Istanbul 'investment haven'

In a speech to leading businesspeople in Istanbul, Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu has said he wants to make Turkey's largest city into a "safe investment haven with our democracy and judicial system." in a speech to a number of leading businesspeople in a meeting ahead of the crucial Nov. 1 elections. 

Turkey eyes TV series exports worth $350 mln

Turkey plans to realize popular TV series exports worth $350 million this year, according to sector representatives attending the world's leading TV content fair MIPCOM Cannes on Oct. 5-8.  

Turkey, selected the country of honor at this year's fair, has risen from an average of $500 to around $200,000 per episode in TV series exports over the last decade.
