Eight referred to court in fatal metrobus collision

Eight of the 10 individuals detained in connection with the fatal metrobus collision in Istanbul's Küçükçekmece district were referred to court on Aug. 30.

The incident occurred early on Aug. 29, when two metrobuses collided and skidded into barriers. The crash left 51 people injured, and 22-year-old Ferhat Uçar, who was seriously injured, later died at the hospital.

Istanbul: four arrests for desecration of Greek community cemetery

Police in Turkey have arrested four people in relation to the desecration of Greek community cemetery in Istanbul last week.

Last Friday morning, staff at Aghios Eleftherios Cemetery, which serves the community of Tatavla in the Kurtulus district, noticed that holes had been dug within a fenced-off area of the cemetery.

No damage had been done to graves or the cemetery chapel.

3 suspects in fatal shooting of Palestinian nabbed in Romania

Three suspects wanted in connection to a fatal shooting of a Palestinian businessman in Istanbul have been detained in Romania, Turkish police said late on Aug. 20.

A Palestinian man was shot dead on Aug. 18 evening as he sat in a car in the Kağıthane district when a masked assailant targeted another Palestinian businessman who remains in critical condition.
