Iraqi foreign minister praises strong ties with Türkiye

Iraq's Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein commended the robust ties between Iraq and Türkiye on Tuesday, emphasizing that any outstanding issues between the neighboring countries would be addressed through dialogue.

"Our relationship with Türkiye is going well," Hussein stated in an interview with Anadolu Agency outside the U.N. headquarters in New York.

Erdoğan reiterates call on Iraqi Kurdish gov't to cancel independence referendum at UN General Assembly

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Sept. 19 once again called on the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) to cancel its planned independence referendum, warning that such a move could spark new crises in the region.

Turkey 'probes claims Iraqi Kurdish civilians killed in air strike'

Turkish Foreign Ministry on Aug. 1 said an investigation has been opened into claims that several civilians were killed in an air strike against militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq.

Iraqi Kurdish officials said Aug. 1 six people had been killed in a pre-dawn strike by Turkish war planes on the village of Zarkel in northern Iraq.
