Tsipras elected head of Council of Europe’s Western Balkans committee
Former Prime Minister and former leftist SYRIZA head Alexis Tsipras was elected as president of the Council of Europe's Sub-Committee on the Western Balkans with 80% of the vote.
Tsipras' opponent was conservative Zsolt Nemeth, a member of the Hungarian National Assembly.
Canadian official to examine Chinese election interference
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Monday he will appoint a special investigator to decide whether there should be a public inquiry into reports of Chinese interference in Canada's elections.
