The iconic hillside sign overlooking Southern California's film-and-television hub was defaced overnight in honor of marijuana. 

Residents awoke on Jan. 1 to find "Hollyweed" staring down at them in four-story, white letters from Los Angeles' Mount Lee, where a version of the picture-ready "Hollywood" sign was first erected in 1923. 

Reports have claimed on Thursday that Brad Pitt is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department and Department of Child and Family Services for alleged child abuse, but the LAPD told  they aren’t investigating Pitt.

Los Angeles police fatally shot a man on March 1 in an incident that was caught on video and circulated widely online, with the department saying officers resorted to deadly force after the man had reached for one of their guns.
