Can music festivals actually go green?
Coachella brings adrenaline-fueled sets to hundreds of thousands of festival-goers who gather in the California desert and it also leaves behind a lot of trash.
Beyond the plastic cups and water bottles strewn about each day, there's also the immense energy use of floodlights and earsplitting speakers.

Swedish Travelers in Greece | Athens | March 5
Vassilios Sabatakakis, a professor of Modern Greek Studies at Sweden's Lund University, will deliver a lecture at the Swedish Institute titled "People Are Very Polite, Enjoyable and Healthy, They Live Well and Have Fun," inspired by Swedish travelers' narratives from 18th century Greece. The lecture will be in English and starts at 7 p.m.

Sweden to bring back conscription: Report
Sweden announced March 2 that it will reintroduce compulsory military service starting this summer to respond to global security challenges including from Russia.
"The government wants a more stable staff supply system and to boost its military capability because the security situation has changed," Swedish Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist told TT news agency.

Archaeologists recreate Pompeii banker house! (video)
An international team of researchers led by Lund University archaeologists has virtually reconstructed a large house of the Pompeian banker Lucius Caecilius Iucundus. A research paper about the virtual reconstruction is published in the journal SCIRES-IT.

Science Festival starts on Thursday
BELGRADE - This year's Science Festival will be held in Belgrade December 4-7.
The festival will bring together scientists from all over Europe, including winners of the Ig Nobel Prize, the organisers have announced.
The partner country for this year's event is France. Scientists from Hungary, Portugal, Sweden and Slovenia will take part in the festival.

Ig Nobel Prize winners at Belgrade Science Festival
BELGRADE - This year's Science Festival will be held in Belgrade December 4-7, the organisers have announced.
The festival will bring together scientists from all over Europe, including winners of the Ig Nobel Prize, an increasingly popular parody of the Novel Prize that awards unusual scientific achievements.
