Supporters of former Bolivian President Evo Morales are holding at least 200 soldiers hostage, the Foreign Ministry said on Oct. 2, as their weeks long standoff with the state escalates.

The former president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, has been attacked by gunmen. The former Bolivian president’s motorcade was shot 18 times.

The armed attack occurred while he was on his way to give a radio interview in the city of Cochabamba. Evo Morales escaped unharmed, but his driver was slightly wounded in the neck.
