A former police officer who rose to become interior minister was paid by a well-known drug trafficker. This was established by the special services, the acting Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov announced to bTV, without giving names.

The Council of Ministers decided to provide 81,157,840 leva in financial resources to the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRDPW) to pay for this year's construction activities along the unfinished Hemus Motorway which will link the Bulgarian capital Sofia with the seaside city of Varna, the Government Information Service reported on Tuesday.

So far, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has registered 26 political parties and 8 coalitions for the parliamentary elections in April, the CEC press office told BTA on Wednesday.

The number is not final, as there are four more political formations in the process of registering with CEC.

In 2020, there will be "smart" cities in Bulgaria with fifth generation mobile networks. This was stated by Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rosen Zhelyazkov during a discussion on 5G: smart transformation and growth, MTITC reported.

BGN 450 million is the estimated revenue in 2020 from toll taxes for the use of the national road network of heavy goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes and BGN 296.3 million from electronic vignettes. Thus, a total of BGN 746.3 million will be collected from fees for the use of the national road network network.

The government has allocated BGN 50,817,326 under the budget of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works for carrying out activities mainly on the second-class and third-class national road network.

By the end of 2020, the first stations for charging cars with hydrogen should be built in Bulgaria, and by 2030 their number could reach 50. This is envisaged in a special ordinance draft, announced the press centre of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRDPW).

The section will be with two lanes in each direction.

Nearly BGN 420 million of toll revenues will finance the modernization of the road between Mezdra and Botevgrad.

The project will be the first to implement a new payment scheme, the government press service said.

The money will finance the activities of the specialized unit "National Toll Management", writes NOVA TV. 

The government has allocated an additional BGN 89 998 200 under the budget of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works for 2019 to finance the activities of a specialized unit of National Toll Management, BGNES reported.

Projects for over BGN 17 billion have been implemented by municipalities with the help of EU funds since 2007. This was reported by the National Association of Municipalities at its final conference on this mayoral mandate.
