A local referendum held in Kazanlak regarding the management of the Buzludzha Monument, which is currently privately owned by the state, has failed due to insufficient voter turnout. Despite the outcome, a large majority of those who voted expressed support for the Kazanlak Municipality to take over the monument's management.

The mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, expressed concerns about a targeted attack on those seeking change, revealing his anticipation of an election in the fall. He is awaiting the court's decision on the regional mayors suspended by the Municipal Election Commission and believes it may lead to another mayoral election.

In the recent extraordinary municipal elections in Haskovo, GERB emerged victorious with 36.79% of the votes, according to the final results released by the Municipal Election Commission (MEC). They were followed by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) with 24.70% and "Blue Bulgaria" with 7.02%.

In Sofia, the transfer of protocols continues at "Arena Sofia" after a night of non-stop counting following the 2-in-1 elections in Bulgaria. However, familiar errors and corrections in the protocols are still prevalent, as expected.

Amidst the echoes of change, Vasil Terziev steps into the role of Sofia's mayor, succeeding Yordanka Fandakova. The inaugural session of the Sofia Municipal Council (SMC) for the term 2023-2027 marks the beginning of Terziev's tenure, bringing with it a set of challenges and opportunities that will shape the city's trajectory in the coming years.

In a rather unique turn of events following Sunday's local election runoff in Bulgaria, six villages across the country failed to elect a mayor in the second round, leading to new partial local elections. Among these villages is Cherna Gora in the Pernik district, where a perfect tie in votes occurred, leaving the decision to the president to schedule new elections.

The GERB-SDS coalition registered Anton Hekimyan as a candidate for Mayor of Sofia in the Municipal Election Commission.

Hekimyan was until recently the director of "News and Current Affairs" on bTV. On Saturday, he surprisingly left his position. In bTV he went through the entire ladder - intern, reporter, editor, TV presenter.

Kosovo on Thursday declared two groups operating in the Serb-majority north of Kosovo Civilna Zastita (Civil Protection) and Brigada Sever (North Brigade) terrorist organisations.

The activity in Stara Zagora as of 10:30 pm with processed 50% of the protocols from the polling stations of the Municipal Election Commission is 40.6%, according to the data of the Gallup news agency, published especially for Radio "Stara Zagora".

Compared to the previous local elections, it was 52%.
