National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities against COVID-19

On Wednesday, President Klaus Iohannis handed over the battle flag to the "Dr. Carol Davila" Central Military Emergency University Hospital in a ceremony that took place at the Ministry of National Defence, in which context he asked the healthcare units to act promptly during the 4th wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A number of 9,468 doses of Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson&Johnson vaccines have been administered in the past 24 hours, of which 6,846 represented the first dose and 2,622 the second dose, according to a press release the National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities against COVID-19 (CNCAV) issued on Wednesday.

A number of 8,967 doses of Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson&Johnson vaccines have been administered in the past 24 hours, of which 6,346 were the first dose and 2,621 the second dose, according to a press release the National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities against COVID-19 (CNCAV) issued on Tuesday.

The anti-COVID vaccine also offers protection against the Delta variant, and without increasing the vaccination rate it will be very difficult to avoid later an increase in the number of SARS-CoV-2 virus infections, the head of the National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities against COVID-19, Valeriu Gheorghita, stated on Wednesday.

The National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities against COVID-19 (CNCAV) informs that, in the past 24 hours, 54,065 doses of vaccine have been administered, of which 37,623 Pfizer, 5,981 Moderna, 7,752 AstraZeneca, and 2,709 Johnson&Johnson.

A new tranche of 345,150 doses of Pfizer Biontech vaccine will reach Romania on Monday, to be delivered by air to Otopeni, Cluj-Napoca and Timisoara airports, the National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities against COVID-19 (CNCAV) informs. According to a CNCAV press release, the transport to the storage centres is provided by the manufacturing company, including by land.

Over 30,000 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine in the last 24 hours, of whom 1,075 received the booster dose, the total number of those vaccinated reaching 235,239, informs the National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities against COVID-19 (CNCAV).

The second stage of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign starts on Friday for the population most at risk from COVID-19 and the employees who carry out activities in key, essential areas. President Klaus Iohannis is to be vaccinated publicly later today.

The National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities against COVID-19 informs that, in the past 24 hours, 5,993 persons have been immunised against the novel coronavirus, with Pfizer BioNTech vaccine, according to data provided by the National Institute of Public Health, through the application of the National Electronic Register of Vaccinations.

The distribution of over 36,000 doses of vaccine requested by the vaccination centers in each county starts on Sunday, the vaccination being thus extended, starting Monday, in all counties, the National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities against COVID-19 (CNCAV). "Starting tomorrow, January 4, 2021, the Stage I vaccination will be extended throughout Romania.
