Spring session of Serbian parliament begins
BELGRADE - A ceremony with the playing of the national anthem and the Serbian Armed Forces Honor Guard lined up at the entrance to the Serbian parliament building marked the start of the First Sitting of the First Regular Session of the Serbian parliament on Tuesday, during which MPs should consider a total of 16 bills.

Changes to law for speedier recognition of foreign diplomas
BELGRADE - Amendments to the law on higher education will facilitate speedier recognition of foreign university degrees, and establish a more precise procedure for revoking a university's accreditation, Serbia's Education Minister Srdjan Verbic said on Friday.

BELGRADE - Over 1,800 scientists and university staff from Serbia and abroad backed the motion to protect academic honour in Serbia which has been submitted to the Ministry of Education, National Council for Higher Education, National Council for Scientific and Technological Development, Conference of the Universities of Serbia and the Commission for scientific titles.

Regulations obstacle to return of Serbian scientists
BELGRADE - Regulations in Serbia often pose an obstacle to better cooperation with Serbian scientists in the diaspora and there is no clear will to facilitate their return, a conference held at the Rectorate of the University of Belgrade was told on Tuesday.
