Warning for Cold Weather Remains in Force for Most of Bulgaria on Thursday

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) issued yellow code alert for cold weather for sixteen regions of Bulgaria on Thursday.

The warning is issued for the regions of Dobrich, Gabrovo, Lovech, Montana, Pernik, Pleven, Razgrad, Ruse, Shumen, Silistra, Sofia, Sofia province, Targovishte, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin and Vratsa.

Yellow Code Issued for Cold Weather in 16 Bulgarian Regions

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) issued a yellow code warning for cold weather in sixteen regions of Bulgaria on Wednesday.

The yellow code alert is issued for the regions of Sofia, Sofia province, Pernik, Kyustendil, Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Razgrad, Targovishte, Shumen and Silistra.

Roads in Bulgaria's Silistra Region to be Closed to All Traffic Due to Severe Weather

Bulgarian Regional Minister Lilyana Pavlova stated that the roads in the region of Silistra will be closed to all traffic as the situation there remains most critical.

At present, the roads in the region are closed for heavy traffic, with their gradual closure to all traffic forthcoming.

Bulgaria's Weather Service Warns of Risk of Ice on Roads

Bulgaria's national weather service has issued yellow code alert for the country's entire territory over a potential risk of ice on the roads and strong winds along the Black Sea coast on Sunday.

The yellow code alert is the lowest degree of potentially hazardous weather on the three-degree scale of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).

Bulgarian Authorities Issue Red Code Over Heavy Rain, Strong Winds in Burgas

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAN) issued a red code over considerable rainfall and strong winds in the province of Burgas.

According to the forecast, considerable rainfall up to 60-70 litres per square metre and a strong northern wind is expected on Tuesday.

Code Yellow Alert Issued in Bulgaria over Heavy Downpours

Some 15-30 l/sqm of rain are expected in Bulgaria over the next 24 hours, meteorologists have warned.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences said early on Thursday that in certain regions rainfall may amount to 35 l/sqm (with yearly levels on average measuring around 500-600 l/sqm for most of Bulgaria).

Code Orange Alert Issued for Bulgaria on Monday over Rain, Thunderstorms

A Code Orange warning is in force in five Bulgarian regions on Monday, with heavy downpours and thunderstorms expected after weeks of simmering heat.

All the regions affected are in Northern Bulgaria, namely Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Razgrad and Targovishte. Weather there might be dangerous to health and/or property.

Warnings Issued Across Bulgaria over Possible Torrential Rains, Snowstorms

Code orange has been issued for Bulgaria's Smolyan municipality on Friday on account of the heavy rains and expected thunderstorms.

The other twenty seven areas of the country have been warned with a yellow code due to the heavy rains and possible snow storms.
