Bulgaria’s Tourism Minister Insists on 50% Increase in Finances for Advertising

The tourism industry and the Ministry of Tourism insist on increasing the finances for promoting tourism next year, Bulgaria's Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova said on July 22 after the meeting of the National Tourism Council in the Golden Sands Resort near Varna, reports BNT.

The official website of the Bulgarian presidency of the EU Council will be launched on 1 December. This was said by the Minister for the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council Lilyana Pavlova at the annual meeting of the National Tourism Council.

Bulgarian Orthodox Church Proposes Development of Pilgrimage Tourism

The Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church has proposed a better promotion of the country's sacred sites to tourists and their inclusion in pilgrimage routes.

These issues were raised during the meeting of representatives of the Holy Synod, including Bulgaria's Patriarch Neofit, and Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova, daily Dnevnik reports.

Bulgaria to Be Split Into 9 Tourist Regions by End of January

Bulgaria's Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova announced on Friday that the division of the country into 9 tourist regions will take place until the end of January.

Angelkova said that the topic will be discussed in detail at the next meeting of the National Tourism Council which will take place next week, electronic daily Dnevnik reports.
