Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced on Friday that he would extend an invitation to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit Hungary, assuring that Hungary would not recognize or enforce the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Netanyahu.

The European Commission has initiated legal proceedings against Hungary over its controversial "sovereignty law," marking another chapter in the ongoing clash between Brussels and Budapest. The move comes in response to concerns that the law, championed by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's government, undermines fundamental rights and democratic principles.

The leader of North Macedona's main opposition party, VMRO DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski, joined the celebrations marking Viktor Orban's victory in Sunday's Hungarian elections at Orban's Fidesz party HQ in Budapest.

According to the reports, the institute will be launched with a staff of around 20-30 people and - as is typical for these Fidesz ventures - financed out of taxpayer money.

Erdélyi Médiatér Egyesület has since snapped up the most important Hungarian-language daily newspapers in Transylvania, several glossy magazines, a literary periodical, television and radio and the most important news portal, Székelyhon.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has openly stated his opposition to the proposed by EU measures on immigration. According to the proposal, immigrants coming into the EU would be distributed among the member states on a quota principle, based on GDP, population, and number of currently hosted immigrants.
