The direction of the state agency to the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works in Kardzhali has a new director starting Tuesday, BGNES reported.

Orhan Ibrahim, who was the director of the Road Infrastructure Agency in the southern Bulgarian town was fired on account of bad management of the crisis situation with the heavy snowfalls in the region.

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev will convene a meeting of the Consultative Council for National Security in March over defense issues.

Plevneliev made clear that the meeting would be devoted to the country's defense policy and the condition of its armed forces.

Only 10% of Bulgarians support stricter EU sanctions against Russia, shows a survey of the Open Society Institute Sofia.

Another 40% are of the opinion that Bulgaria should not participate in sanctions against any country in general, Russia included. 

At the same time, two thirds of Bulgarians describe the situation in the country as “unbearable”, shows the survey. 

Two protests against the visit of Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will be held on Monday in Sofia. 

Sergey Stanishev, leader of the senior partner in the ruling coalition, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), demanded the resignation of the government of Plamen Oresharski.

Bulgaria's Parliament will debate on Wednesday the no-confidence motion against the Socialist-led cabinet of PM Plamen Oresharski.

In its first plenary session after the European elections, the deputies will discuss the motion in sector energy, proposed by the opposition GERB party.
