Türkiye will boost its trade with the Developing Eight Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) member states through a "next-generation agreement," Trade Minister Ömer Bolat has told Anadolu Agency.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Wednesday called for urgent support for Gaza and Lebanon at a summit of the Developing Eight (D-8) Organization for Economic Cooperation, Turkish diplomatic sources said.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has slammed Western leaders for their lack of response to the ongoing violence between Israel and Hamas, calling on Muslims to stand with the people of Gaza.

"If we don't raise our voices as Muslims today, when will we do?" Erdoğan questioned during a summit of the Organization for Economic Cooperation held in the Uzbek capital Tashkent on Nov. 9.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis on Tuesday promulgated a new law making it easier to vote abroad, saying it would give "Romanians abroad the right to vote and not wait for hours in queues and fearing that they will not be able to vote before the ballot boxes close".

Greece is the most expensive country in terms of cell phone services among the member-states of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

OECD data revealed this week that Greek mobile phone users pay much more for their service than the average European, Turkish or Mexican consumer. Charges in Greece are two or even three times the OECD average.

Speaking with his Kazakh, Senegalese, and Nigerian counterparts to give Eid al-Adha greetings, Turkey's president on Sept. 2 stressed the importance of working together to solve the humanitarian crisis in Myanmar, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
