Organization of the Islamic Conference

The foreign ministers of Türkiye and Jordan will meet in the Turkish capital Ankara to discuss the recent developments in the Middle East amid intensified attacks by Israel against Lebanon, which increase the fear of a further spread of the conflict to the region.

Representatives from 57 countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) have come together in Istanbul for the establishment of a network between their Red Crescent and Red Cross national societies in a bid to respond to humanitarian problems and reduce human suffering in the most efficient way across the member states.

The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) will convene at an extraordinary summit in Istanbul on May 18 to show solidarity with the Palestinian people and to denounce the relocation of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, as well as the Israeli attacks that killed over 60 civilians in protests on May 14.

Turkey has intensified its diplomatic efforts on the eve of the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Istanbul where the controversial relocation of the United States Embassy to Jerusalem and Israel's killing of Palestinians will be discussed. 

Turkey, as the term president, has announced its decision to organize an extraordinary summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) on Jerusalem after the opening of the United States Embassy in the city that claimed the lives of dozens of Palestinian protestors.

Turkey and all members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) will launch a new initiative at the United Nations this week after their declaration of East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine, following U.S. President Donald Trump’s controversial recognition of the city as the “undivided” capital of Israel.

High-level representatives, including some heads of states from the 57-member Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), will come together on Dec. 13 in Istanbul at a summit to consider a joint stance against United States’ recent recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar will pay separate visits to Iran in the coming days amid rising tension over the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) bid to hold an independence referendum on Sept. 25 and continued efforts to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Syria. 

Foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) will convene in Istanbul on Aug. 1 to discuss ongoing tension in east Jerusalem after Israel attempted to restrict the use of the Harem al-Sherif for Muslims, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a written statement. 

Three days after his name was circulated as a possible candidate against President Tayyip Erdoğan in the 2019 election, former President Abdullah Gül asked on May 5 for his name to not be used in daily political debate.
