Turkey is taking a leading role in the fight against Islamophobia on international platforms, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Sept. 19.

"We are fighting against a more deadly and sneaky virus. This virus, which is as dangerous as the coronavirus, is called Islamophobia," Erdoğan said at a gathering organized by the Turkish American National Steering Committee in New York City.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been saying that for years and decades when it comes to the Balkans and Kosovo, although recently there have been cracks in the relations between Ankara and Pristina, longtime Serbian media correspondent from Ankara Vojislav Lalic told Sputnik about Erdogan's new message that contradicts Serbia's national interests.

Calling on the world to stand against Israeli attacks on Palestine, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on May 14 that Turkey will not accept Israeli persecution, even if the whole world ignores it.

Turkey and Saudi Arabia will maintain dialogue to address their disagreements, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on May 11, after discussing bilateral ties and Israeli attacks in Jerusalem and Gaza with his Saudi counterpart in Mecca.

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Nov. 27 said he held a meeting with his Saudi counterpart to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues.

Çavuşoğlu said in a tweet that the "sincere" meeting with Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud was held on the occasion of the 47th session of Organization of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers.

Europe lacks visionary leaders, and some of them risk the peace of Muslims there, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has said.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Aug. 14 that Turkey was considering closing its embassy in Abu Dhabi and suspending diplomatic ties with the United Arab Emirates over its accord to normalize ties with Israel.
