Fees ‘make tourism less competitive’
The president of the Panhellenic Federation of Hoteliers, Giannis Hatzis, speaking to Kathimerini about the measures announced by the government this month, notes that there is a significant risk of overburdening the country's tourism industry. This, he warned, could undermine its competitiveness just as signs of weakening consumer purchasing power start to emerge.

Hoteliers to Theocharis: Quarantine hotels are not hospitals
A letter to the Minister of Tourism, Haris Theocharis, was sent by the Panhellenic Hoteliers Federation (PHF), in which it refers to the lack of available rooms in quarantine hotels and asks tourists who are positive for the virus to be isolated in the places they have rented.

A deputy minister said only four border crossings out of six in northern Greece should open for tourists as the government prepares to ease restrictions on travel, saying the others lack the necessary infrastructure to conduct customs and possible health checks on arriving visitors.
Fewer hotels in Greece since 2015
There are 35 hotels fewer this year than there were in 2015 based on the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels’ official record of registered members, constituting a major blow to investment prospects for Greek tourism.
