Greek ferries are to resume their services on Tuesday following a four-day strike after the union representing the country's seamen, known as PNO, decided not to further extend its action.

The Panhellenic Seamen's Federation (PNO) said Tuesday that its members will join a 24-hour strike that the private sector workers' union, GSEE, has called for May 8, in protest at planned reforms to the pension system.

Passenger ferries were docked at ports in Greece on Monday due to the start of a 48-hour strike called by the Panhellenic Seamen's Federation (PNO).

The sailors are protesting that the multi-bill passed through Parliament on Sunday allows ferry companies to offer employees in-house contracts, thereby bypassing collective bargaining with the union.
