Two terror group suspects remanded amid probe
Two of the three suspects arrested on Saturday on charges of being members of the Revolutionary Self-Defense terror group were remanded in custody on Tuesday after testifying before an examining magistrate.
The suspects, 41-year-old Evangelos Stathopoulos and Dionysios Bakas, 45, were arrested during a sweeping counterterrorism operation in Athens.

Funeral of prominent publisher Livanis to take place Monday
The funeral of prominent publisher Antonis Livanis, who died last week at the age of 94, will take place at Athens' First Cemetery on Monday, following a service at the capital's Metropolitan Cathedral.
Riot police attacked in central Athens, no arrests
Self-styled anarchists lobbed homemade firebombs at a riot police unit stationed near the Athens Polytechnic.
The incident, which took place around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, was followed about half-hour later by an attack on a riot police detachment near the headquarters of socialist PASOK party on Harilaou Trikoupi Street in Exarchia.
There were no reports of arrests or injuries.

Protest rally against Grigoropoulos killer's release marred by violence
Some 30 hooded individuals clashed with police in the downtown Athens district of Exarchia on Wednesday night, marring an otherwise peaceful protest over the release from prison of a police officer who shot and killed a teenager in the area in 2008.

The Greek Police (ELAS) is investigating police brutality claims in the downtown Athens district of Exarchia, after a video emerged of a man crying out loudly for help while surrounded by several officers in full riot gear.
Prosecutor calls for 22 of 54 defendants in Siemens case to be cleared
The prosecutor in the trial of suspects implicated in the Siemens cash-for-contracts scandal has called for 22 out of 54 defendants to be cleared of bribery charges and to only face charges of money laundering, citing the provisions of the country's new penal code.
The prosecutor, Eleni Skeparnia, noted that the new code changes the charge of active bribery to a misdemeanor.

Center-left Movement for Change (KINAL), which is polling in third place ahead of national elections in July, was in a state of upheaval on Sunday after two candidates and a party cadre quit in protest at the withdrawal of socialist heavyweight Evangelos Venizelos.

The danger of losing control
The perpetrators of the attacks that have taken place in the past few days in Athens are neither unknown nor numerous. What's more, the targets of their attacks include some of the best-guarded buildings in the country, such as the residence of the US ambassador to Greece and the headquarters of the PASOK party in central Athens.
