Woman Takes Over Romania's Opposition Liberals
The National Liberal Party, PNL, Romania's biggest opposition party, elected Alina Gorghiu as its new leader on Thursday, replacing Klaus Iohannis, who resigned as head of the PNL to become President of Romania.
She won 48 votes in an internal meeting of party leaders. Her main opponent, a former Transport Minister, Ludovic Orban, got 28 votes.

The executive board of the opposition centre-right National Liberal Party, PNL, on Monday said Klaus Iohannis would run for the party in the presidential elections in early November.
