President and the leader of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has convened his party's top executive body to discuss a series of analyses regarding the local election results as his party experienced a decline in support.

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş has engaged in a "constructive" meeting with main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Özgür Özel in the first round of talks on a proposed new constitution.

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş is set to kick off discussions on the proposed new constitution on April 30 with visits to various party groups in the parliament this week.

Kurtulmuş is slated to commence his talks concerning the amendment of the constitution and parliamentary bylaws by meeting with the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) officials on April 30.

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Özgür Özel has unveiled plans to publish a circular aimed at curbing waste and encouraging savings in municipalities won by his party in the recent local elections.

Expected post-election fiscal tightening would strengthen the effectiveness of Türkiye's monetary policy, in the context of weakened transmission channels, Fitch Ratings has said.
