The state prosecution has detained members of the Sarajevo Canton police force and the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina for questioning on Friday after it launched a new investigation into 22-year-old Dzenan Memic's death.

The first hearing in the trial of wartime Bosnian Serb Army Drina Corps commander Milenko Zivanovic, accused of crimes against Bosniaks from Srebrenica in 1995, was postponed by Belgrade Higher Court on Monday so Serbian officials can consider the offer of a formal transfer of the case from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Officers from the State Investigation and Protection Agency arrested Radovan Veljovic on Wednesday in the Foca area of south-east Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ignoring criticism of the event, a Bosnian Serb minister attended a memorial service on Monday in Visegrad for Russian fighters in the 1992-95 Bosnian war, where flowers were laid at the Monument to the Fallen Russian Volunteers at the Megdan Military Cemetery.

In an operation codenamed "Lipa", executed on the orders of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bosnian Border Police, together with partner police and security agencies,  on Wednesday arrested members of an organised crime group suspected of smuggling hundreds of illegal migrants from Bosnia to EU member Croatia.

BELGRADE - Republika Srpska PM Zeljka Cvijanovic on Friday dismissed allegations about Belgrade having direct political influence on Banjaluka.

The parliament in Bosnia's Serb-majority entity, Republika Srpska, will hold a special session on Monday on shelving an earlier decision to hold a referendum on the powers of Bosnia's state-level judiciary.

The Bosnian authorities extradited Mirsad Kandic to the US on Tuesday after he had been on Washington's wanted list for three years because of his alleged ties with terrorist organisations.

Kandic was deported on a special plane sent by the US government.

BANJALUKA - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik announced in Banjaluka Thursday there would be more referendums in the Bosnian Serb republic, noting that they would be conducted electronically to facilitate the process.

All those having a registered residence in Republika Srpska for six months will be eligible to vote in the referendums, he said.

PALE - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik confirmed Wednesday he had received earlier in the day a summons for questioning by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina over last Sunday's Republika Srpska Day referendum.
