The car bomb attack in Turkish capital Ankara, which left at least 28 people dead on Wednesday, was committed by outlawed PKK group and people with links to the "Kurdish militia" in Syria, the country's Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said.

At least nine people suspected of being linked to the attack have been apprehended.

The co-leader of the Kurdish-problem-focused Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) accused the European Union of turning a blind eye to human rights violations in Turkey in a doomed bid for a solution to its migrant crisis, in an interview with the Greek newspaper on Feb. 17.

A young German woman fighting alongside Kurdish forces in Syria was killed over the weekend in clashes with Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) fighters, Kurdish officials and a Turkey-based communist group said on March 9.
