Bulgaria is marking the 147th anniversary of the Shipka epic, commemorating the historic battle at Shipka Pass. The national celebrations, which began on August 19, will reach their peak at Shipka Pass.

The Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) has announced the commencement of a significant overhaul project for the Danube bridge near Ruse, Bulgaria, set to begin on July 10. Valued at over BGN 44.8 million, the repair will be funded from the RIA's budget and is scheduled to span two years.

The annual technical inspection for vehicles in Bulgaria has seen a significant spike in cost, according to a report by "Telegraph". The price has soared to BGN 90, marking a notable increase from last year's range of BGN 45 to BGN 60.

Bulgaria is set to embark on the construction of two crucial highways, linking the city of Varna to Durankulak in northeastern Bulgaria and to Silistra on the Danube. The announcement came from Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Andrey Tsekov during an event in Varna.

Amid the anticipated surge in holiday travel, the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) announced specific traffic alterations for the Hemus Highway on December 29 and 30, aiming to streamline movement and accommodate repair works.

The Road Infrastructure Agency's ambitious capital program for 2024, totaling EUR 850 million, promises significant advancements for Northern Bulgaria's transportation networks. Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Andrey Tsekov, unveiled plans, emphasizing a budget allocation of over EUR 600 million dedicated to the region's infrastructure projects.

"All the institutional resources of the state are harnessed to overcome the damage caused by the floods in Western Bulgaria".

Tomorrow and Saturday, in order to facilitate traffic during peak hours, the movement of vehicles over 12 tons will be restricted between the 5th and 23rd kilometers of the Trakia highway in the direction of Burgas, reported the Road Infrastructure Agency.

Several heavy-duty trucks are blocked on the Blagoevgrad-Bansko road in the area of the "Predel" pass. The passage is extremely difficult despite the efforts of the teams to clear the heavy snow.

The traffic jam is serious in the Razlog-Bansko direction, where the trucks are stuck, BNR reported.

"We are launching Highway 'Europa' around the New Year, but without the last layer of asphalt." This was stated by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Ivan Shishkov.
