Iwona Blazwick has been announced as the curator of the 18th Istanbul Biennial to be organized by the Istanbul Foundation of Culture and Arts (IKSV) from Sept. 14 to Nov. 17, 2024.

After weeks of criticism over the handling of the bushfires scorching Australia, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on Jan. 12 he will propose a national review into the response to the disaster, as the fires claimed another firefighter's life.     

The Vatican treasurer and Australia’s most senior Catholic figure Cardinal George Pell has been charged with sex offences in Australia.
The charges relate to alleged “historical” incidents, police in the state of Victoria said.
The allegations were made by more than one person, said Police Deputy Commissioner Shane Patton.

Vatican finance chief George Pell was called June 1 to give evidence at an inquiry into sex abuse as one of Pope Francis' commissioners for the protection of children accused him of being "almost sociopathic".
