The power unit of the Russian corporation Rosatom - JSC Rusatom Service and Kozloduy NPP have signed a contract for the modernization of the neutron flux control equipment (ACNP) for the Fifth and Sixth units of Kozloduy NPP after the open tender back in september 2019.

Russia's Rosatom will modernise the generator equipment of unit 5 of Bulgaria's Kozloduy nuclear power plant (NPP).

This was agreed in a EUR 24.7 contract signed by Kozloduy NPP and Rosatom on Saturday 30, the Russian corporation informed on Friday.

The delivery timeframe of the core equipment for Unit 5 is 500 days, with all upgrades expected to be completed by May 2018.

Units 5 and 6 of Bulgaria's Kozloduy nuclear power plant need a replacement of the automated neutron flux control system in order to have their capacity increased.

The measure is part of the life extension and modernization program for units 5 and 6 of the Kozloduy NPP, according to investor.bg.

The life of unit 5 of Bulgaria's Kozloduy nuclear power plant may be extended by up to 60 years, according to a media statement of the N-plant.
