The state prosecution has detained members of the Sarajevo Canton police force and the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina for questioning on Friday after it launched a new investigation into 22-year-old Dzenan Memic's death.

The parade, which comes after the first-ever march in 2019, is being held under tight security. A hardline Muslim political campaign group is organising a counter-protest against this year's parade.

The increasing number of migrants and refugees entering Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2018 has raised concerns about security, especially in towns near the border with EU member state Croatia, but official data shows that they have not committed large numbers of criminal offences.

SARAJEVO - A Sarajevo police commander of special forces during 1992-95 was indicted on Thursday for war crimes against Serb prisoners early in the war.

Officers from Bosnia's Serb-led entity Republika Srpska assisted by local Sarajevo police raided the Klix newsroom in the capital on Monday in an attempt to discover the origins of the allegedly incriminating audio recording.
