International cooperation indispensable in higher education
Metka Tekavčič, dean of the School of Economics and Business at the University of Ljubljana, is leaving her post in September after ten years. During her tenure the school has become renowned internationally based on work done by previous generations.

Ljubljana – The SI4CARE European Social Innovation Project, initiated by researchers from Slovenia, aims to improve the process of providing long-distance caregiving for older people. They note that it is important to identify the services and technologies that are available and the demand for them.

Some of these countries are both importers and exporters of workers. They rely on cheaper workers from Ukraine or the Balkans to fill lower-skilled jobs, often to replace their own citizens who have sought more lucrative jobs in Western Europe - mostly Germany, the United Kingdom or the Netherlands.
