Small shareholder association boss found guilty of insider trading in retrial
Ljubljana – The Ljubljana Local Court has sentenced Kristjan Verbič, the president of the Pan-Slovenian Association of Small Shareholders (VZMD), to a suspended prison sentence for insider trading in 2007, the newspaper Delo reported. Verbič already got an eight-month suspended sentence in 2017.
C-bank vice-governor, Securities Market Agency head appointed
Ljubljana – The National Assembly elected in a secret ballot on Tuesday Tina Žumer a vice-governor of the Slovenian central bank and endorsed Anka Čadež’s appointment as director of the Securities Market Agency.
Žumer, who has been serving as a chief economist with the European Central Bank after a spell at the analytical department of Banka Slovenije, was backed by 60 votes to 21.
Dnevnik says govt’s interference in companies hits another level
Ljubljana – Dnevnik says in Tuesday’s commentary that the political interference in state-owned companies has hit another level yesterday as a protege of Environment Minister Andrej Vizjak was appointed to the supervisory board of Petrol.
