National Security Council OKs Orlic's appointment as BIA chief

BELGRADE - At a session chaired by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, the National Security Council on Wednesday approved the appointment of Vladimir Orlic as new Security Information Agency (BIA) director.

The decision was made in line with the Law on the Foundations of Regulation of the Security Services of the Republic of Serbia.

Vucic: More than 35 rioters arrested after attempt to take over institutions by force

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday evening more than 35 rioters had been arrested after an attempt to take over Serbian state institutions by force.

Vucic was speaking to Pink TV after a National Security Council session called to address the riots.

Tomislav Radovanovic named acting head of Serbia's Security Information Agency

BELGRADE- Former Interior Ministry official Tomislav Radovanovic has been named acting director of the Security Information Agency, sources in Serbia's security agencies have told Tanjug.

Radovanovic, who has previously served as head of the Criminal Police Directorate's Special Investigation Methods Service, joined the Security Information Agency in early 2023.

Vucic thanks Vulin for his contribution to national security

BELGRADE - In a reaction to Security Information Agency chief Aleksandar Vulin's resignation, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Friday evening it was true there had been pressure from the first day since Vulin's appointment to the post, and thanked him for his contribution to the preservation of national security.
