Serbian GDP up by 0.7 pct in Q1 2023

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic on Monday attended a session of a council set up to coordinate measures and activities aimed at GDP growth.

The council said Serbian Q1 GDP was up by a higher-than-expected 0.7 pct, the Serbian government said in a statement.

Brnabic said industry and agriculture were the sectors to be credited for the GDP growth.

Vucic: Intelligence and counter-intelligence protection to be boosted

BELGRADE - Speaking to reporters after last night's shooting spree in Mladenovac that left eight people dead, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced that the level of intelligence and counter-intelligence protection across the country would be stepped up.

He noted that Serbian authorities would start implementing a set of measures adopted by the government two days ago.

Serbian gov't adopts new decisions following Belgrade school massacre

BELGRADE - The Serbian government on Thursday adopted new decisions following Wednesday's massacre in a primary school in downtown Belgrade.

Under the decisions, the government proposed a two-year moratorium on issuance of licences for possession and carrying of small firearms.
