Youth Initiative for Human Rights activists said they were attacked at a Serbian Progressive Party event in Beska when they protested about the featured speaker, war crimes convict Veselin Sljivancanin.

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic announced Tuesday that a decision whether to call parliamentary elections would be made at the end of January or in early February.

Vucic repeatedly lashed out at opposition MPs in the parliamentary chamber on Monday and Tuesday during sessions held to discuss next year's budget.

He accused the far-right Dveri party of trying, with the help of the US ambassador to Belgrade, to rig this year's parliamentary elections, which his own Serbian Progressive Party won.
