Israel charges two over arson attack that killed Palestinian family

Israeli prosecutors filed murder charges on Jan. 3 against a man and a minor for an arson attack in the occupied West Bank that killed three members of a Palestinian family and helped fuel the fiercest eruption of street violence in years. 

The attack on July 31 killed 18-month-old Ali Dawabsheh and his parents Saad and Riham.

Israeli officials describe the attack as Jewish terrorism.

Palestinian shot dead in Israeli army raid in Bethlehem: Medics

Israeli soldiers shot dead a 19-year-old Palestinian as clashes broke out during a raid at a refugee camp in the West Bank town of Bethlehem on Dec. 8, Palestinian medics and the Israeli army said.

After the incident at the Dheisheh refugee camp, clashes also broke out at Aida, another camp in Bethlehem, official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.    

Israel to Unfreeze Tax Transfers to Palestine

Israel will resume the transfer of tax revenues levied on behalf of the Palestinian Authority, which had been suspended since January.

The re-elected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu justified this move with rising humanitarian concerns, the deteriorating situation in the Middle East and the rise of extremism.
