In a landmark decision, an Ankara court has ruled that a private who had lost his life after getting sick during military service in the Central Anatolian province of Çorum should be considered "service-disabled," thus making it possible for his family to be given a state salary.
Shadow economy costs Turkish economy $17 bln: Minister
The shadow economy costs the Turkish economy 60 billion Turkish Liras ($17 billion) annually, Labor Minister Mehmet Müezzinoğlu has said, adding that new measures would be taken to slash it.

Number of employed women falls 40,000 in Turkey
The number of registered women wage-earners in Turkey fell by 40,000 in December 2016 compared to the same month of 2015, according to a new report prepared and released by the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV).
TEPAV's latest workforce report stated that the fall in women employees amounted to a 1 percent drop year-on-year in the same period.
