The Chinese Communist Party has today re-elected President Xi Jinping  as Secretary General of the Senior Leadership Comittee in its first plenary session. The new CCP also elected 7 members its Standing Committee.

China's Communist Party opened a meeting on Wednesday to make final preparations for a key party congress later this month, state media said, a five-yearly event where President Xi Jinping is expected to further tighten his grip on power, Reuters reports.

PM Ana Brnabic received on Monday Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the 12th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China.
