Bulgaria: Head of State Agency for Wiretapping Replaced by President Radev

The current deputy director of the State Agency for Technical Operations (DATO), Biser Borisov, is now the head of the Agency. This was announced by the caretaker government press service.

The Council of Ministers announced that President Rumen Radev had issued a decree appointing Borissov after the government presented his candidacy.

Prosecutor's Office Announced - No "Illegal" Wiretapping of Politicians

Sofia City Prosecutor's Office said it had not found illegal wiretapping of politicians, as well as violations in the use of special intelligence means (SRS)  by any of the responsible institutions - SANS, the State Agency for Technical Operations (DATO), GDCOP and Internal Security at the Interior Ministry.

Tsvetan Kitov is Re-Appointed as Chairman of the State Agency For Technical Operations

The chairman of the State Agency for Technical Operations Tsvetan Kitov was re-appointed to the position at today's Government meeting, reported BGNES.

The proposal for his dismissal was submitted by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, who is directly responsible for the agency's work on the implementation of special intelligence means.
