Court overrules gov't plan to renationalize Thessaloniki transport body
In the latest clash between the judiciary and the leftist-led government, the Council of State on Friday suspended a decision by the Transport Ministry to renationalize the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization (OASTH).
The ruling followed an appeal by shareholders in OASTH for plans to liquidate the company to be suspended.

Eurozone GDP up by 1.7%, while Greece stuck in recession
The average growth rate in Eurozone countries stood at 1.7% in the first quarter of 2017, according to Eurostat’s initial estimates, while it was calculated at 2% for the EU28 area. This is in contract to the Greek economy, which was the only country that registered a drop in growth for the sam3e period.

Fatigue seen in primary surplus in Jan-Feb.
The excessive containment of state expenditure and the central bank dividend led to the budget posting a primary surplus of 2.1 billion euros on top of the target of 846 million euros in the January-February period, although this was below the figure seen in the same period last year (2.85 billion euros), according to data released om Tuesday by the State General Accounting Office.

A new set of tax rates is being drafted at the State General Accounting Office, as the income tax overhaul will apparently concern more than just the tax-free threshold.
High ceiling for GNTO contracts
According to an amendment presented to lawmakers Monday night by the ministries of Economy and Tourism, when it comes to projects promoting the country as a destination, the Greek National Tourism Organization will be granted the power to authorize direct concessions valued at amounts in excess of the 20,000-euro general ceiling per project which applies to all other direct concessions.
