Turkey has established the identity of the gunman who killed 39 people in an attack on an Istanbul nightclub on New Year’s Day, its foreign minister said, and further arrests were made on Wednesday, but the attacker himself remains at large.

Thirty seven people, thrirty police officers and seven civilians, were killed and 166 wounded in Saturday’s twin bombings in Istanbul.
The explosions, one large blast followed by a smaller one, occurred about 11 p.m. local time (3 p.m. ET) after a heavily attended football game at Besiktas Vodafone Arena.

 A Turkish court has barred a leader of an opposition party from leaving the country, accusing her of "belonging to an armed terrorist organisation," the state-run Anadolu news agency reported Oct.29.

A U.S.-led programme to train Syrian rebels to fight Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants will start in May, Turkey's Defence Minister ?smet Y?lmaz was quoted as saying by the state-run Anadolu news agency on March 31.
