Erdoğan hails Iraq's 'positive steps' in fight against terrorist group PKK

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Friday hailed the Iraqi government's recent efforts against the terrorist group PKK, including officially declaring it illegal.

Erdoğan expressed Ankara's satisfaction with these "positive steps" during a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in Istanbul, according to Türkiye's Communications Directorate.

Erdoğan meets with Venezuelan counterpart, receives Vietnamese PM

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro on Wednesday discussed bilateral ties in the Russian city of Kazan, the site of a summit of the BRICS group of countries.

During the meeting, Erdoğan and Maduro spoke about bilateral relations and regional and global issues, Türkiye's Communications Directorate said in a statement.

Erdoğan receives Hungarian parliament speaker in Ankara

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Thursday hosted Hungarian parliament Speaker Laszlo Kover for a meeting at the presidential complex in the capital Ankara, according to Türkiye's Communications Directorate.

No further details were provided about the closed-door discussions.

Commemorating 100 years of ties

Erdoğan meets KRG leader Barzani in Ankara

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Nechirvan Barzani, the head of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), in the Turkish capital Ankara on Oct. 16.

Ahead of the meeting, Barzani held talks with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and National Intelligence Organization (MİT) chief İbrahim Kalın.

Fidan later joined Erdoğan's reception of the KRG president.
