During WWII, the Allies had a ship so jinxed, it destroyed itself by nearly destroying something else. And yes, you read that correctly.

 

The USS William D. Porter (DD-579) was a Fletcher-class destroyer named in honor of Commodore William D. Porter – a Union officer. Most just called it the “Willie Dee” – which wasn’t meant to be endearing.

Commissioner Corina Cretu: I expect Romania to understand that financial instruments represent future

Mandate of EU's task force extended until June 2015

The mandate of the European Commission's task force for Greece has been extended until June 2015, the EU's chief executive Jean-Claude Juncker said on Wednesday.

“Upon a proposal by President Jean-Claude Juncker, the College has decided to prolong the mandate of the Task Force for Greece (DG ECFIN) until 30 June 2015,” Juncker said in a statement.
