Transport Minister Christos Spirtzis announced on Wednesday the appointment of the economist Stelios Pappas, the father of Digital Policy Minister Nikos Pappas, as the new president of the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization (OASTH).

Thessaloniki bus drivers continue strike due to unpaid wages
Employees of the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization (OASTH) are to walk off the job for the ninth day in a row Tuesday, demanding the payment of months of outstanding wages, and leaving the northern port city without bus services.
Thessaloniki bus workers say they'll go ahead with strike Monday
Thessaloniki was expected to remain without bus service at least until Monday after workers went on strike on Saturday demanding unpaid salaries.
The Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization (OASTH) said it will pursue legal action on Monday to stop the strike but workers appeared adamant they will not back down from their demands.

Thessaloniki bus workers walked off the job for the 11th day in a row Tuesday, demanding three months in unpaid wages.
Responding to the protracted action, the Transport Ministry said that, in association with the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization (OASTH), it would pay protesting workers a month in pending wages.

Thessaloniki transport chief arrested over corporate debts
The head of the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization (OASTH) will face a judge in February over alleged company debts to the state amounting to nearly 3 million euros.
Christos Stefanidis was arrested on Thursday and arraigned on Friday.
