Tension over Beleri apparent at funeral
The difficulties that lie ahead in finding an acceptable solution to the case of Fredi Beleri, the jailed ethnic-Greek mayor of Himare, were reflected at the funeral of his grandmother, which took place on New Year's Eve in the southern Albanian town, under tight security, with the presence of a total of almost 30 armed police officers.

Tirana MPs Support Albanians' Education in Serbia
The delegation of lawmakers from the Albanian parliamentary education commission announced on Wednesday that it would make an informal visit to Presevo in southern Serbia at the start of next month in an attempt to help ethnic Albanian youngsters who are lacking the schoolbooks they need for their studies.

Albania’s Rama: We won’t negotiate nat’l interests for sake of good-neighborly ties
Albanian PM Edi Rama on Wednesday fielded a question on relations with Greece and the recently emerged issue that Tirana tabled regarding the delineation of maritime borders in the Ionian Sea.
Rama answered the press question as he appeared with his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic at a press conference. Vucic is on a closely watched on a two-day visit to Tirana.
