Top court rejects Janša appeal against statute-barring of Patria case
Ljubljana – The Constitutional Court has rejected an appeal by former PM Janez Janša against the statute barring of the Patria defence deal bribery case. While Janša felt denied a chance to prove his innocence, the top court claims he had no legal interest, as statute barring is fully equivalent to an acquittal, meaning he is considered innocent.
Top court says mask and hand disinfection mandate unconstitutional
Ljubljana – The Constitutional Court has added the mask mandate introduced by the previous government in closed public spaces in 2020 to the list of unconstitutional measures related to the epidemic, again stressing that legislative changes as opposed to only decrees are necessary for such interventions.

Ljubljana – The Constitutional Court has annulled rulings by two courts that rejected borrowers’ request for annulment of contracts on loans in Swiss francs and for a refund of overpayments, in what is the first decision of Slovenia’s top court related to issue of Swiss franc loans.

Ljubljana – The Constitutional Court has stayed in an unanimous decision the implementation of a provision from one of the coronavirus stimulus packages that extends accreditations to higher education institutions until it comes up with its final ruling on the matter.

Top court decrees special needs children programmes to resume in-person
Ljubljana – The Constitutional Court has stayed the implementation of the decree prohibiting gatherings in institutions implementing programmes for children with special needs, and ordered that the government enable such programmes to resume in-person as of 4 January.
